Schemes for University Lecturers

  • The ExxonMobil Engineering Teaching Fellowships scheme is now permanently closed

The Fellowships were designed to encourage able young lecturers in chemical, petroleum or mechanical engineering to stay in the education sector in the early years of their career. Up to six awards were made each year, worth £9000 over four years.

  • Industrial Secondment Scheme

The secondments enable engineering lecturers to spend between three and six months, preferably on a full-time basis, in an industrial organisation gaining experience that will benefit their teaching. The award provides funding to cover the salary cost of the applicant paid pro-rata against the amount of time to be spent at the industry host.
