Senior Research Fellowships: Monitoring Performance
When an Award has been
made, an Academy Fellow will be appointed as
Mentor to the incumbent. The Mentor has no
vested interest in the outcome of the
research and can offer independent advice
and guidance as appropriate. They will visit
the incumbent at least twice a year, at
least one such meeting being a formal
meeting of the Steering Group, and will
review the Annual Report against agreed
performance indicators.
The university is required to establish a
Steering Group for the Award, comprising the
incumbent, The Academy Mentor, The Academy
Scheme Manager, university Head of
Department (or other appropriate
representative) and a representative of the
industrial sponsor(s).
The incumbent is required to submit an
annual report on the anniversary of their
appointment and a final report within three
months of the conclusion of their
appointment.
The incumbent is required to participate in
an annual meeting of Academy Chairs and
Fellowships. The Academy will meet the
travel and subsistence expenses of the
incumbent incurred in connection with such a
meeting.
