Research Exchanges with China and India
Scheme
Awards support visits of 3-12 months and should
be part of longer-term efforts to build UK-China/India partnerships. Awards provide funding at a flat rate of £24,000 per annum (or pro rata
for shorter visits) regardless of the direction of travel.
Joint (two-way) Exchanges are also possible. These allow a researcher at a UK-based
Institution to travel to a Chinese/Indian Institution and also for a
China/India based researcher at that Institution to travel to the same UK
Institution. The total funding available for a Joint Exchange is the
same as for a single Award.
Exchanges between 3-6 months
may be either pre-existing collaborations or new
collaborations. Exchanges longer than 6 months for
pre-existing collaborations must initiate new
technical collaborations as continuation studies
will not be supported.
Eligibility
Researchers should have an
excellent and established track record in research.
All researchers travelling overseas must be at
post-doctoral level or above (or demonstrate
equivalent research experience).
The UK and overseas researchers applying should have
a permanent position at a University or Research
Institute. Industrial
