Applicants must be working
at a UK HEI, at post-doctoral level or above, in
an engineering department (or engineering
focussed research area).
-
Engineering is defined in
its broadest sense, encompassing a wide range of
diverse field. If you are working in a
non-engineering or IT department but in an
engineering research area please contact the
scheme Manager to check if you are eligible to
apply.
-
Industrial researchers and
establishments are not eligible.
-
Applicants must show
commitment to the objectives of the scheme and
aim to establish a viable business venture,
based on innovations/products/services emerging
from the research.
-
Enterprise Fellows are
required to devote the majority of their time to
the Fellowship. They can hold other posts, but
this will need to be approved by both the host
institution and The Royal Academy of Engineering
and justified in the application.
-
Applicants must confirm
that they are able to remain and work legally in
the UK for the duration of the Fellowship. The
Academy cannot take any responsibility for
applying for visas/work permits required.
-
Applicants can work in a
team, but the Applicant must play a leading
role.
-
This Fellowship will not
fund further research work.
-
Applicants for the
Enterprise Fellowships will be expected to
negotiate directly with the proposed Host
University to ensure that an appointment would
be acceptable.
-
Applicants must consult
the commercialisation/enterprise office of the
Host University before applying.
