The Academy has internal and external programmes of diversity work which are managed and delivered by the Diversity Team. The former aims to ensure that the Academy remains at the forefront of good equality and diversity practice. The Academy Diversity and Inclusion Committee advises and has oversight of the Diversity and Inclusion in Engineering Programme and internal programmes of work.

To help support the implementation of the policy, the Academy delivers face-to-face diversity training and an online unconscious bias course is available to all staff and Fellows on Committees. Academy directors have signed-off a diversity and inclusion action plan for 2016-18 set within the context of Academy Strategic Challenges, its core behavioural competencies, Diversity and Inclusion Programme Strategic Aims and its Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Policy.

Everyone at the Academy including director, staff, committee members and the Trustee Board has a role to play in delivering the plan.
