  • Risk in Engineering
    The Academy’s risk project is concerned with identifying the major areas of engineering risk, and developing a greater understanding of how they can be assessed and managed.

  • Energy Policy
    A summary of the recent work done by the Academy on energy policy which includes: details of a series of seminars covering various aspects of energy in the UK and the resulting report, ‘Developing a sustainable energy strategy’; The Academy’s response to the Government’s recent Energy Review; and presentations given at the seminar ‘Energy 2100’.

The Academy makes strenuous efforts to consult widely among its Fellows when preparing policy advice and our procedures are compatible with Government guidelines on the provision of scientific advice.
