Euro-CASE

What is Euro-CASE?

The European Council of Applied Sciences and Engineering (Euro-CASE) is a European non-profit-making organisation of Academies of Applied Sciences and Engineering from 18 European countries.

Since 1993 Euro-CASE has been working on issues of common interest to its Academies and European Institutions.

Euro-CASE conforms to the French act of 1901 on associations. Its legal headquarters are in Paris.

Objectives

Euro-CASE provides impartial, independent and balanced advice on engineering research, development and the resultant technology.

The main objective of Euro-CASE is to be the voice of engineering and technology in Europe by defining, promoting, and disseminating common points of view and corresponding actions, so as to improve the competitiveness of the European community and its citizens.

The interdisciplinary character of Euro-CASE provides a unique scope of experience, allowing it to address not only many and varied engineering issues but also related topics such as education, the regulatory environment, sustainable growth, and technological issues of public interest.

Euro-CASE can also initiate concrete actions of common interest where its unique constitution can bring an added value or an original solution to important issues, such as the organisation of the European IST Prize.

Organisation

Through its member Academies, Euro-CASE acts as a permanent forum for exchange and consultation between European institutions, industry, and research. Euro-CASE has access to many of the most distinguished experts in Europe and deals with technological issues with a clear European dimension.

Euro-CASE is governed by a Board consisting of senior representatives from each member Academy. An Executive Committee is elected from the Board Members.

A permanent Secretariat, based in Paris, co-ordinates the activities of Euro-CASE. Details of current projects can be found on the main activities page of the Euro-CASE website.

For contact information for individual Euro-Case Academies visit the following web page on the academies page of the Euro-CASE website.
