Engaging Business in the EU Framework Programme

On 29 October, the Academy hosted an event entitled “Engaging Business in the EU Framework Programme” in collaboration with the Technology Strategy Board, the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills, and the CBI. The workshop asked a range of UK technology businesses with interests in Europe to try to identify ways to ensure that UK business benefits more from EU Framework Programme research.

The event was chaired by Dr Iain Gray FREng, Chief Executive of the Technology Strategy Board. Speakers included Professor Adrian Smith FRS, Director General, Science and Research at BIS, Dr Mike Short FREng, Vice President O2/Telefonica, and Mr John Loughhead FREng, Executive Director, UK Energy Research Centre.
