To be eligible:

  • Applicant should be an exceptional established researcher at a UK university/not-for-profit research organisation.
  • The collaborator must be from a different discipline from the applicant’s own or a different university in the UK (for e.g. Engineer as the main applicant, collaborating with a discipline within the remit of the British Academy or the Royal Society).
  • Applicant must be teaching an engineering discipline at undergraduate or postgraduate level.
  • Research proposals for Engineering should be in any engineering discipline. Engineering is defined in its broadest sense, encompassing a wide range of diverse fields including computer science and materials. If you are unsure if your project is in an engineering area, please contact the Programme Manager to check if you are eligible to apply.
  • Awardees will be required to devote all of their time to the Award, as this is a full-time award. Please explicitly state the percentage of time you’ll dedicate to this Award (with the anticipation being a 100%, as this is a full-time award).
  • Any applications that are incomplete or do not adhere to the guidelines may be rejected.
