Panasonic Trust Fellowships aim to encourage and facilitate the professional development and technical upskilling of UK-based engineers by providing funding for the study of full-time master's degree courses in relevant subjects.
The Panasonic Trust is keen to support the study of new and emerging technologies, particularly those related to: environmental technology; energy; sustainable development; natural resources; materials; and the built environment. This bursary is worth £8,000.
The Panasonic Trust is generously supported by Panasonic UK and administered by the Royal Academy of Engineering.
About the Panasonic Trust
On 2 November 1984, Matsushita Electric Industrial Co Ltd celebrated ten years of successful manufacturing in the UK. HRH The Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, Senior Fellow of The Royal Academy of Engineering, was Guest of Honour at the event to mark this milestone during which he received the Deed for a £500,000 fund. This fund was constituted as The Panasonic Trust.
On 2 October 1997, Matsushita Electric Industrial Co Ltd marked the 25th anniversary of the founding of Panasonic UK Ltd by generously donating a further £500,000 to the Panasonic Trust to enable it to broaden its activities in the professional development of UK engineers. Income generated by these funds was has been used to support the Panasonic Trust Fellowships since 1998.
