Arriving by train
There is a frequent fast, train service to York on
the main East Coast Line and direct links to the
Cross Country and Trans Pennine rail services. The
journey time from London King’s Cross to York is two
hours, from Edinburgh Waverley two and a half hours,
and from Manchester one and a half hours. The
station lies just outside the historic city walls
with easy access to hotels, shops, the university
and cultural attractions.
The university is a short
15-minute bus or taxi ride from the railway station.
Direct buses frequently depart from the station.
Arriving by air
York is easy to reach from many UK
airports. It has a direct rail link to Manchester
Airport, and Leeds Bradford Airport is only 30 miles
away. London airports are easily accessed by rail
links.
Arriving by car
York is easily accessible by
road with good links to major motorway networks. |
