12 April 2010 PolicyNet General Election Sessions
Speaker: Adam Afriyie MP, Shadow Minister for Science and Innovation

In the run-up to the General Election, PolicyNet has invited the three main political parties to tell us where they plan to take science and engineering policy. Our first speaker will be Adam Afriyie, Conservative MP and Shadow Minister for Science and Innovation.
PolicyNet is the network run by the Royal Academy of Engineering for people working in policy roles at all levels in an engineering, science and technology context. This includes people from the academies, learned societies, think tanks, NGOs and government. We offer short informative lunchtime sessions with the opportunity for networking.

11 March 2010 Tenth Annual Regional Public Lecture and Fellows' 'Spring' Dinner
6.00pm at Manchester University
The Annual Lecture and 'Spring' Dinner will take place on Thursday 11 March at Manchester University from 6pm. The lecture will be given by Professor Keith Ridgway OBE FREng, Research Director and HEFCE Business Fellow, Advanced Manufacturing Research Centre with Boeing, University of Sheffield. The dinner will be hosted by Professor Colin Bailey, Vice-President and Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Physical Sciences. The lecture is open to the public and the dinner is for Fellows and their guests. We hope that all Fellows will continue to support this regional flagship event.
