The Royal Academy of Engineering Regional Lecture and Dinner
Leeds University, 5 March 2012

The 12th Annual Regional Public Lecture and Fellows' Dinner will take place on Monday 5 March at Leeds University.

We are delighted that Professor Anne Neville FREng has agreed to give the lecture entitled "Nature and Nano - It's all going on at Engineering Surfaces".

The lecture will be given in the Rhodes Lecture Theatre in the Department of Electrical Engineering at 6pm and is open to the public. It will be followed at 7.15pm by a Reception and Poster Competition, kindly hosted by the University.

Professor Anne Neville holds The Royal Academy of Engineering Chair of Emerging Technologies and is Professor of Tribology and Surface Engineering at the University of Leeds.

The Poster Competition is for early career university staff and researchers from Sheffield, Manchester and Leeds. Details will be circulated to participating departments early in the New Year (Contact: Professor Simon Biggs FREng). All Fellows of the Academy attending the event will be invited to participate in the judging of the Posters.

Our annual informal dinner that follows will be in The Great Woodhouse Room in University House at 8.15pm and is for Fellows of the Academy and their guests. Fellows may each bring a guest to the dinner and spouses are welcome. The dinner is not 'black tie'. It is intended that the evening will be over by 9.45pm.

A booking form for the dinner will be circulated early in the New Year but, meanwhile, an early indication that you will be attending will be most helpful.

Dr John Bramley FREng FIMMM
