The MacRobert Award Winner and Finalists 2012 Exhibition

For the first time, the Royal Academy of Engineering is displaying an exhibition showcasing the work of the 2012 MacRobert Award finalists. This year's three finalists were Andor Technology, shortlisted for their Neo sCMOS scientific digital camera, Jaguar Land Rover for the Range Rover Evoque and JBA Consulting for the JFlow flood risk modelling system. Jaguar Land Rover were the eventual winners and were presented their award by HRH The Princess Royal at the Academy’s annual awards dinner at London’s Royal Opera House on Tuesday 26 June 2012.

The MacRobert Award is the premier prize for UK innovation in engineering. It is given annually for an outstanding innovation with proven commercial success and benefit to society. The Award, first presented in 1969, honours the winning organisation with a gold medal and the team members with a prize of £50,000. The presentation of the Award recognises the successful development of innovative ideas in engineering. It seeks to demonstrate the importance of engineering and the role of engineers and scientists in contributing to national prosperity and international prestige.
