The Institute of Physics is a scientific charity
devoted to increasing the practice, understanding
and application of physics. It has a worldwide
membership of over 36,000 and is a leading
communicator of physics-related science to all
audiences, from specialists through to government
and the general public. Its publishing company, IOP
Publishing, is a world leader in scientific
publishing and the electronic dissemination of
physics.
The Photonics and Plastic Electronics Knowledge
Transfer Network (PPE KTN) funded by the Technology
Strategy Board, supports the UK photonics and
plastic electronics communities in order that they
become a beacon of successful UK wealth creation
through knowledge, enhanced skills and collaborative
partnerships.
SPIE is the international society for optics and
photonics founded in 1955 to advance light-based
technologies. Serving more than 188,000 constituents
from 138 countries, the Society advances emerging
technologies through interdisciplinary information
exchange, continuing education, publications, patent
precedent, and career and professional growth. SPIE
annually organizes and sponsors approximately 25
major technical forums, exhibitions, and education
programmes in North America, Europe, Asia, and the
South Pacific.
