Visiting Professors' Scheme

The Royal Academy of Engineering Student Design Poster Competition 2007

The 2007 engineering design poster competition was judged at the 5th International Conference on Design & Manufacture for Sustainable Development on July 10th, where 27 universities submitted a total of 42 posters to be judged.

The posters were competing for one of the following awards: Overall Best Project, Best Sustainable Development Project, Best Integrated System Project and the Most Innovative Project.

The prize winning posters were:

Overall Best Project

Richard David Charles
Thomas Peter Hartley
Ben Robert Rose
Richard Elliott Taylor
from the University of Loughborough, with a project entitled "Sustainable Dishwasher". They win £1500.

Best Sustainable Project

Rebecca Main
Christopher Vyse
Farah Baharud-Din
Paul Dickens
from University of Bristol, with a project entitled "Solar Water Decontamination Unit". They win £500.

Best Integrated System Project

Chithambaram Anand Veerappaan
John Martin Wilson
Mohd Faizal Che Yahaya
Tabraze Ahmed Malik
from University of Manchester, with a project entitled "Detection of Wheel loss in Bus and Heavy Goods Vehicles". They win £500.

Most Innovative Project

Tim Morgan of University of Bath with a project entitled "All Terrain Wheelchair". Tim wins £500.
