By supporting teaching and learning in the areas of science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM), the Engineering Engagement Programme sought to widen participation in STEM by helping teachers and pupils realise the significance of engineering to their everyday lives.
The programme was supported by BAE Systems and ran for three full academic years from September 2009 to July 2012. Over this time, it worked directly with over 300 schools.
