Suranga Chandratillake has created the world’s premier video search
company, blinkx, which is valued at £500m, before his 35th birthday. The young entrepreneur,
exceptional engineer and leader is regarded as an expert on the convergence of the Web and
television and online advertising. Named a Young Global Leader Honoree in 2009 by the World
Economic Forum, and won the Academy’s Silver Medal this year. He is also renowned for
designing Autonomy’s massively scaleable and extremely profitable data mining solutions
as well as his contribution to multimedia content discovery – one of the internet’s
greatest challenges. He won a Royal Academy of Engineering Silver Medal this year for his
technical and business achievements.|
