Professor Eric Morgan Yeatman FREng CEng FIMMM FIET SMIEEE
Professor of Microengineering and Deputy Head, Electrical and
Electronic Engineering Department, Imperial College London
Eric Yeatman is an expert in optics and microengineering, including the development of surface plasmon microscopy, silica-on-silicon optical amplifiers in sol-gel glass, 3D self-assembled RF microstructures and microelectromechanical vibratory power scavengers. He is also co-founder and Acting CEO of Microsaic Systems plc, which listed on the London Stock Exchange in April 2011. Microsaic develops and markets miniature mass spectrometers based on MEMS technology, and is the first company to introduce a miniature mass spectrometer for liquid analysis to the market. He won a Royal Academy of Engineering Silver Medal in 2011 for his research and its commercial exploitation.
