Professor Elaine Barbara Martin OBE FREng CEng FIChemE
Director, Biopharmaceutical Bioprocessing Technology Centre and Professor
of Industrial Statistics, Newcastle University
 Elaine Martin is recognised as an outstanding contributor to the
development and application of statistical techniques to improve the understanding and
beneficial operation of industrial process plants. She has had a varied career starting
life as a civil engineer before specialising in statistics and environmental statistics
and is much admired for her leadership of engineering research at Newcastle University
and the ESPRC.
