Peter Robery is a leading expert in materials technology, focusing
particularly on concrete durability for new-build structures, as well as forensic engineering
examination of older structures for maintenance and repair. His experience ranges from bridges
and tunnels, to industrial facilities, commercial buildings and sports stadia. His work also
covers disaster investigations involving fire, flood and bomb damage. A past President of the
Concrete Society, he has also forged strong links with universities – he is a Visiting
Professor at the University of Leeds and Queens University Belfast, and a Visiting Lecturer
at the University of Birmingham. He is a prolific author on the management of concrete
infrastructure, an active expert witness and a UK delegate for CEN standardisation.
