Dr Ian Pratt FREng CEng FIET
Co-Founder and Senior Vice President for Products, Bromium Inc
Ian Pratt is a pioneer of cloud computing who developed open-source
software to share the technology and established XenSource, one of the leading companies in
virtualisation, taking his work successfully from academia to industry. XenSource was acquired
by Citrix for $500 million in 2007, and he continued at Citrix as VP of Advanced Products. In
June 2011 he left Citrix to start a new company called Bromium, specialising in
microvirtualisation. Ian previously led the Systems Research Group at the University of
Cambridge Computer Laboratory and was a founder of Nemesys Research, acquired by FORE Systems.
In 2009 he won a Royal Academy of Engineering Silver Medal for his achievements in computing
and enterprise.
