The Academy's Public Engagement Grants Programme
Ingenious
engaging citizens; engaging engineers
Overview
The prime objective of
Ingenious is to provide funding for projects that
enable engineers to enhance their public engagement
skills, consider the societal implications of their
work and take part in debate with the public on
engineering and its impact on society.
Aims
The Ingenious grants programme
offers funds to encourage:
Development – to provide
engineers with learning and training opportunities
in public engagement and to look at their work in a
wider societal context
Awareness - to raise
public awareness of the diversity, nature and impact
of engineering on society
Change – to encourage open
debate and dialogue between society and engineers on
engineering issues of public interest and concern
Funding
Funding is available (£5,000
to £30,000) for projects that enhance the public
engagement skills of engineers; and that provide
opportunities for engineers to engage in debate with
the public (both young people and adults) on
engineering and its impact on society.
Funds are available for:
Activity
projects that provide opportunities for
engineers to gain experiential learning in public
engagement by taking part in their development and
delivery.
Development projects that design and deliver
bespoke public engagement training courses, seminars
and workshops for engineers.
Please note that funding is no
longer available for the “Individual grants”.
