Ingenious Individual grant
application guidelines
Scheme aims - the
Individual grants are to provide funds for engineers
to attend training courses, workshops and
conferences that are directly related to:
public engagement
(including media and communications training);
public policy; or
science and engineering in
society (eg risk, ethics or philosophy).
Start date -
please note that the Award letters will be sent out
in early April 2007, and consequently activities
must start after this date.
Applicants -
applicants must be engineers based in the UK, and
employed in UK higher educational institutions or
industry.
Costs -
allowable costs include course or conference
enrolment fees and associated standard class travel,
accommodation and subsistence expenses. This fund is
primarily for engineers to take part in UK
activities. In exceptional cases, funding for
international activities will be considered,
provided a full justification is given. We will not
fund retrospective activities or activities that
focus on engineering research only (see “Scheme
aims” above for further details). This list is not
exhaustive.
Please include details on any
additional partnership funding that has been applied
for or secured (for example, contributions from the
applicant’s employer or university).

submit the Individual grant online application form by 12pm on 19 January
2007. If, for any reason, applicants cannot submit
their forms online, please contact Lesley
