Activity projects

Funds available for the development and delivery of activities, involving engineers, that raise public debate on engineering and its impact on society. Activity projects therefore have at least two target participant groups:

  • Engineers that will be involved in the development and delivery of the activities to gain practical experience in public engagement

  • Public audiences, who will take part in the activities. Public audiences can be made up of adults, young people or families and can also include ‘Specialist groups’ (e.g. specific target groups such as teachers, journalists or policy makers).

The activities should not be didactic, should encourage dialogue with engineers and must stimulate debate on contemporary engineering and its impact on society - both its applications and implications. Activities can come in any shape, size and format such as events, debates, exhibitions, films, podcasts and drama productions.
