Age discrimination Guidelines for Small Medium Enterprises

From the 1st of October 2012, it will be illegal for to discriminate against people on grounds of age in the provision of services. This guide for small businesses explains what you can and cannot do.

Race & Socioeconomic Background Research Dissemination Event
10am - 2pm Thursday 2 May 2013

This event is part of the Academy’s BIS-funded Diversity in Engineering Programme. It aims to give employers and Professional Engineering Institutions an opportunity to find out about actions they can take to increase diversity – especially as regards ethnicity and socioeconomic background.

Considering a career in Engineering?
10am-12pm and 2pm-4pm Monday 29 April - Wednesday 1 May 2013

Designed to Inspire is a series of role model events intended to give Engineering Students an opportunity to find out what it's really like to be an Engineer. Between Monday 29th April and Wednesday 1st May 2013, Engineering students are invited to join fellow students for a 2 hour session which includes an audience with some of the UK's most success full Engineers. Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Trans (LGBT) History Month

The LGBT History Month free Pre-Launch is on Thursday 15th November 2012 at Bletchley Park. The focus of which will be the work of Alan Turing - engineer, scientist, mathematician and code breaker. For more on the pre-launch and LGBT History Month 2013 visit www.lgbthistorymonth.org.uk

British Sign Language (BSL) for Engineering

On Tuesday 19th June 2012, the STEM Disability Committee worked with the Scottish Sensory Centre to launch 116 physics and engineering terms in British Sign Language.
