The Academy also supports the
Athena project, chaired by an Academy Fellow.
Established in 1999 to advance and promote the
careers of women in SET in Higher Education and to
increase the number of women recruited to top posts
the project has made recommendations for good
practice which it is now seeking to ensure these are
embedded throughout the HEI (Higher Education
Institutions) network.
