Professor Andrew Bell FREng
Chair in Electronic Materials, University of Leeds

Professor Bell is a leader in the science and engineering of ferroelectrics, piezoelectrics and related materials, and is noted for the optimisation of these materials for industrial applications. Specific examples include the development of improved dielectrics for use in microwave communication systems and new piezoelectric materials for high-temperature sensors. He is a co-founder of, and Chief Scientific Advisor to, Ionix Advanced Technologies Ltd, which develops and manufactures high-temperature ultrasound transducers based on these novel materials. He is currently the holder of an Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council Established Career Fellowship focusing on additive manufacturing of functional oxides.
