Engineering the Future is an alliance of professional engineering organisations with a combined membership of 450,000 engineers. Our vision is of a thriving UK economy, based on innovative high value businesses and industries that build on our national strengths and address the grand challenges of the 21st century.

Engineering the Future works to promote understanding of the contribution of engineering to the economy and society, and to increase the role of engineering in the development and delivery of national policy. We work with government and parliament to inform and shape key areas of policy, such as energy, national infrastructure and biomedical engineering. We promote engineering to the public, with whom we engage in dialogue and debate on the issues that matter. We also work with business and industry to create the right climate for innovation in the UK.
